I think depending on what your flying now( Baron,Seneca,172) that the turbo prop would be a better transition unless you have been through a Crj transition course prior to training. I remember going from the Saab to the Crj and it ate my lunch for the first 4 sims. That being said the Crj is and great flying airplane and was glad when I had an APU and could get above or around weather and not being limited to FL160-190.
