Your first sentence is correct.

I understand your point on the second sentence is move flying back to mainline, but the reality of that happening is very slim unless there isn't a single pilot on the earth left to fly an rj and mainline is crying for anyone that meets gov 121 requirements to fly passengers.

Rather than ALPA fighting for our destruction how about ALPA help put standards in place that no contract that comes across the table fall below - reasonable and livable conditions. The point is if these standards are "too costly" mainline would pull it all back in house anyway. Reasonable and livable are very interpretive from one pilot to the next, but I'll put a few down and and we can debate what is good or not so good. Keep in mind I would love to see first year on an RJ 100k, but I think it will not be a capability if mainline isn't providing standards for all like that.

So here goes and keep in mind this is for all FFD carriers:

First year pay: $45 an hr.
Min days off per month: 12
Time and a half pay on all flying done on all taken off days.
Cx pay and DH pay 100% at all FFD carriers.
Health insurance: Max out of pocket deductible 2k for plans and no more than $100 per month. Health insurance is a major cost for all companies so I'm trying to be reasonable here.
Travel benefits: standard code for all ALPA FFD carriers.

Again this is just an idea of what should be a "set standard". My point is if we had set standards for all pilots at FFD carriers anything less than these would not allow it come across a negotiating table. Also this is just the tip of the ice berg, but some things could be just concrete.

Debate away!
