I think there is only so much TPIC one can build before it seems that there is no difference in one hour to the next (as far as résumé is concerned). I've been a captain for almost 4 years and accumulated 8000 TT with 2500TPIC. I think it would be a welcome switch from flying 5 leg days, but that's just me. I've never experienced the long haul international flying and I'd like to do it. Once a pilot meets minimums for every job out there it's pretty much about who you know or how you network when it comes to getting a job. I know check airman that have over 10,000 hours and 5,000TPIC that are still waiting for a call. It's not all about TPIC when it comes to legacy carriers.
