My comment was for guys who don't have your credentials. If you have the time then find a job you enjoy. Your final point is very well taken. A lot of people (a majority who post on here) ASSUME that they're going to snatch the golden ring of a Major airline job.
Sure, there are lots of jobs out there, but the number is finite. A whole bunch of guys will end their careers in an RJ, like it or not.
Everyone here needs to repeat after me:
"NOT EVERYONE WILL GET A MAJOR AIRLINE JOB."
