Affirmative action was intended to level the playing field. It hasn't. In order for it to "die the death," minorites and women are going to have to be given equal footing in all sectors of life as we know it here in America. Attitudes will have to change.

Now, enough of this history and civics lesson, let's get back to aviation.
The playing field is very equal. I have many friends of different ethnic backgrounds, genders and yes even sexual oritentation that have been or are actively flying as either F/Os or Captains, did not have to rely the EEOC or Affirmative action to get to where they are today. They did it by themselves with their abilities, personalities, and most of all professionalism with no "tude". Lose yours and get that brass ring too.
