I was trying to figure out why females sound like 15-year-old flirty girls on the radio most of the time. Every time I hear one I go "la-lala-lala-lala" in my best high-pitched impersonation voice! (Obviously I don't key the mike.) Now I get it – they are trying to COMPENSATE for the manly uniforms. Mystery solved!

It's a pilot's uniform. I think you are the one being a little ridiculous. If the pants don't fit just right or the blazer doesn't, go get them altered to fit you better. The men's tie is better than that fru fru fluffy thing that some airlines offer us ladies. I think that cross tie is ridiculous myself. They require the same thing of the men that they do of us.....a professional appearance (ie. men have to be clean shaven, short hair....ours should be pulled back...it looks more professional and doesn't get in the way). What do you want to look like Tammy Faye Baker on the flight deck? It's not like you need to impress the other guys we work with with your makeup and nailpolish.

Now fill in gender for race.
Guess what gender was flying the 747-400 which lost an engine and missed the mountain top by 75 ft?

I've flown with good women pilots, and I have flown with bad women pilots...I can say the same for men pilots too...Maybe I'm a bad pilot?...I give all my crewmembers respect no matter how they got where they are regardless of gender...But!...I still call it a Cockpit and always will.

my wife is a capt. for CoEx,when we met she was flying DC-3s,all night, all weather, she was captain on the Atr-42/72 before the jungle jet,and she flies airshows in the B-25 on the side, besides being an awesome wife, and mom. Her skills ,and the skills of the vast majority of the ladies I have flown with are superior. get over it gents.
