I know there was a big push in the late 90's to get more female pilots at United, and consequently Skywest and United had significantly increased their percent of female pilots. How? I am not sure but I am pretty sure they were hired with a lower minimum.

I've flown with good women pilots, and I have flown with bad women pilots...I can say the same for men pilots too...Maybe I'm a bad pilot?...I give all my crewmembers respect no matter how they got where they are regardless of gender...But!...I still call it a Cockpit and always will.

my wife is a capt. for CoEx,when we met she was flying DC-3s,all night,all weather,she was captain on the Atr-42/72 before the jungle jet,and she flies airshows in the B-25 on the side, besides being an awesome wife,and mom. Her skills ,and the skills of the vast majority of the ladies I have flown with are superior. get over it gents.
