When I sit on the jumpseat on mainline they verbalized those things during the checklist. We are suppose to do the talking before the checklist is started.
At mainline we do the runway position, departure, first fix plus takeoff briefing (Heading altitude airspeed) prior to initiation of the before takeoff checklist. The checklist response is simply "verified."
At least that's the way it's supposed to be done....
