That last sentence simply is not true. They did not concede. They negotiated to pay the pilots profit sharing many moons ago. It was coming regardless of the TA. Now they want to call it a pay raise. Make it an expense. Wrong.
They also decided to give profit sharing to 60,000 plus non contract employees. Not our problem. They can fix that with the stroke of a pen. Oh, they're worried about organizing the mechanics/FA's. Pay us through vacation, training, per diem and DC. Monetize in a meaningful way.
Give us data and examples of sick leave abuse. I haven't seen it documented. Fixing chronic abuse can be done without opening a can of worms for honest pilots. Hence, let's stick with Dalpa's opener, no changes in sick leave.
Most of all, let's ask our union to explain why they come out 4 months early with this TA. Why a short period to evaluate the TA? Why no pro/con paper? Why vote days before the Q2 profit report? Why does the union leadership make public statements saying this is the best we can do, no money left on the table. Dalpa shot itself in the foot bringing the TA to the pilots. Amateur behavior. Any pilot that's been here more than a month knew the TA was subpar in this environment.
And you guys still don't get it! Keep fighting.
