I'm a 9E pilot, but my wife and I lived in Eagan for four years and loved it. Great access to both Minneapolis and Saint Paul. Right now we currently live in Bloomington, which is a little bit more like a 1950s style suburb of Minneapolis, which we love. If you want to live in Minneapolis, I'd suggest the Nokomis area, diamond lake area, or just south of Lake Calhoun. There are some great options there with lots of character and close to MSP.
