If your answer is NO - what would be YOUR strategic plan going forward?
I would do the exact same thing with that TA that I did with the current TA that offers a 26% pay raise. I would first of all study the entire document with an emphasis on the areas that will have the greatest impact on me now, and in the future. Then I'd take it to my financial planners and review it with them to determine how it would impact my long term goals for retirement. Finally, I would listen to the members of the MEC and NC to determine why they believe the TA I'm reviewing is the best they can do. Maybe they don't. If they don't, I'd expect them to tell me why they forwarded it for a ratification vote. Maybe they believe an overwhelming no vote would help them negotiate a better TA. But if they say the exact opposite, I'm not going to assume they are hoping I will guess that they are lying.
Here's some things I wouldn't do. I wouldn't assume I know what is best for other pilots. I wouldn't assume that areas of the TA that I think are important have the same level of importance for others. I wouldn't try to vote on behalf of "my brothers and sisters" at other airlines, because quite frankly, I don't have the time nor energy to understand what is good and bad about the contracts their unions negotiate. And I wouldn't make a decision to fire my employees (the MEC and NC) until I knew I had someone better to fill their shoes.
After doing all that, and a few more steps I won't list here, I would determine whether I was a yes or no vote.
