Minutes are always taken at meetings, but minutes only contain official business. They don't contain detailed accounts of what was said and such. And of course, doing so would present the same problems that recording could.
Where's the report?? AS usual it seems that legal is just covering as*es vs allowing members to get information. The meetings should be recorded and available for any member to view. You want to control it keep them at the FDX union office.
AS far as town hall mtgs like the one on the LOA or the age 60 spin mtg (why are we still kicking this dead horse??), they should be broadcast, filmed and be available or sent to the membership for review. Send them as a CD. It's just that the union wants to control what bgets out and to who. AGAIN, we all don't live in elvistown and can just hop in the car and drive a couple of blocks. I guess the union doesn't want the other 70% of us to see any disent at these mtgs.
