I'm looking around for the report, but I haven't found it yet. I received that report almost a year ago, so I haven't had to reference it in a while. If I find it, I'll be happy to post the info.

Minutes are always taken at meetings, but minutes only contain official business. They don't contain detailed accounts of what was said and such. And of course, doing so would present the same problems that recording could.

I understand why the meetings can't be recorded. I would not want to be quoted at 2 AM either. I do resent the fact that I will be unable to attend any of the meetings and am venting.
I do find it hard to believe that a meeeting can't be recapped. How hard would it be to say here were some concerns expressed by members at the hub turn meeting. Here are the responses approved by the NC attorney (to include the prevalent "if you don't like it don't bid it). After all don't cost nothing he/she is on retainer.

We received a report last year at the BOD from the Special Representational Structure Review Committee (yeah, I know, ridiculous name) on the subject of web casting or podcasting meetings and roadshows. The legal department had the most strenuous objections for many very important reasons, but the IT department also disagreed with the idea due to complexity and costs. Basically, it just isn't a very good idea. I had been in favor of it prior to reading the report, but the committee made a very good argument and I changed my mind.
Compexity and cost? Yeah, all those videos on You Tube must cost a fortune. A digital video camera, and a site to upload your video file is all it takes. Not long ago we got a "video message" from DW.

Again, I'm looking for the report that provides all of Legal's arguments against recording the meetings at all. I don't want to misquote since I haven't read the thing in almost a year.

AS far as town hall mtgs like the one on the LOA or the age 60 spin mtg (why are we still kicking this dead horse??), they should be broadcast, filmed and be available or sent to the membership for review. Send them as a CD. It's just that the union wants to control what bgets out and to who. AGAIN, we all don't live in elvistown and can just hop in the car and drive a couple of blocks. I guess the union doesn't want the other 70% of us to see any disent at these mtgs.

You know I would not spend my time here if someone could get Platinum Plus back open. That is where we all use to for our secret meetings (yea...that’s what I was doing there). This is the only place I can go to now to get the info I need.
And when I was at PP I never used my REAL name there and I NEVER had a problem with credibility!
BWP...nowhere to go.
