Well, to play devils advocate in the argument... There are 3 weeks in November/December where they aren't interviewing. So a big list to work through in late October and early-mid November would make sense as the usual monthly number would be skewed.
Just a thought, I don't have pure evidence to say that's true. When I asked the guy in the ivory tower about submissions, he said we would good for another big pull but isn't expecting it before December for interview dates in Jan/Feb.
