the only thing about being a sim instructor is the hours are even worse than line holders. our sims run 20 hours a day. some guys fly from 10 to 2 at night with an hour brief before and after, so you don't even leave the place till 3 in the morning. and they work sat and sun. ground instructors work m-f 8-5.

i would prefer to be a line pilot any day. i have a lot of days off this month and there is no way i could get them working in the sim or as a ground instructor. so if you like the mon-fri job then be a ground instructor. if you want to make pretty good money but work crazy hours be a sim instructor. if you want the most time off and build flight time be a line pilot.
