Managements slight of hand. A "bonus" does not count towards the hourly wage and when contract negotiations come due, only hourly rates count towards that pattern bargaining. Not sure why people don't get that or ignore that. Sure your effective wage is higher but look at the bigger picture.
Sure, Unions totally ignore all pay but the pay rates when negotiating new contracts. Do you really believe that? Do you have any room to talk on this subject anyway? You work for one of the worst paid Airbus operators in the world, literally you are in the bottom 10% in the whole world. Which is worse for the industry? Endeavor pilots getting a 20K bonus or you flying an Airbus at wages far below industry standard?
