PG;
Good god man, a voice of reason.
You can opt for a pure short call line. I think it pays 75 or 76 hours. The problem is I can bid a normal reserve line, and get 81-85 hours. Change the "short call line" guarantee? Not sure. Maybe pay short calls whether they volunteer or not? Many possible tweeks.
Global fleets reserve going into days off? LUAL, that is the way it has always been, because you can't split up a trip. The solution? Many possibilities. GUM pilots can get 18 days on reserve in a row. Your layover can count as your 30 hours every 7 days. Some pilots would love this, some would scream loudly.
Domestically? How often does it happen? If it is often, it should get premium or add pay.
Commuting to reserve? Too bad, so sad. Unless you are a new hire. Other than that, you chose badly, grasshopper.
