Just have realistic expectations. It's a regional. You will be mistreated and be paid next to nothing. It's doable if you live in base and DO NOT GET COMFORTABLE. Get in, get a type, get some time and get out at the first opportunity. Job fairs and 121 experience are the key to landing a spot at a reputable carrier.
May be the easiest but with his experience I think it is a waste of time if he plans on leaving. I'd look into JetBlue, Frontier, Virgin America, Spirit, Allegiant (only if you live in one of their bases), SunCountry, Atlas, etc. I'm sure there are more but that's all I can think of. At those places you can make a career if Delta, UAL, AMR never call.
