They put out an e-magazine that has a nice contract comparison in the back. I work at American and IMO our contract vs. Southwest the only things we have better are pay rates and 401k. The rest of their contract appears better. Upgrade at AA for a newhire would be less than 2 years for the E-190 and 8-10 years for B-737/A-320.
-vacation starts at 21 days and I think tops at 35 days.
-401k is a 16% company contribution
-no stock options
-no relocation pay except for certain circumstances
-no education benefits, though I think there is an employee scholarship.
-travel benefits on all AA and regional flights. Free in coach. Fee for first class. You can buy discounted passes on other airlines too.
- Life insurance is $70k provided by the CO. More available through the union.
-STD/LTD available. Not sure about details.
-60 hours sick pay every year.
