Wife and kids free. Parents have a cost. Flights run full! Always travel early best bet. If you get bumped your priority will roll over to next flight. Also if you are a through flight you get higher priority in the hub. Also consider traveling on less busy days. It's a crap shoot sometimes. You do get annual vacation pass which gives you a higher priority.
