Just some more food for thought for everyone. I do agree that the 2.5/6/7 (whatever it currently is) is possible, however our management does need to do certain things to make that happen.
With that said there has been some interesting developments over the past 2-3 weeks. We are anticipating losing between 90-120 Captains for the 1st quarter of 2016 just to flow.
At the welcome party for 175, Pedro did say "... when the Compass 175s arrive." Not if, but when. They could be a slip for ESL or it could just be a slip.
The delivery schedule for the 175's is being accelerated. As of tomorrow, 18th of December, we will have 4 on property, the first one arrived 3 weeks ago. We are only supposed to take delivery of 2-3 a month (depending on the month) we are doing almost 50% more right now.
It's my understanding that if you are part of the 824 the training department will not hire you to be a IOE or a Sim instructor as they anticipate you being gone in 12 months. That's 400+ Captains leaving in 12 months just for flow. That's 25% of the list.
Everything is not roses here and that's not what I'm saying. Our reserve system has been abusive at best and downright hostile and aggressive with there practices. Not necessarily the individual schedulers, but the rules they have to implement forced down upon them from on high.
We have been led along with carrot that most of us realize is to far away to get all the while we are being beaten with a stick. But there does appear to be a light at the end of the tunnel.
