3.25 hours per day is 22.75 per week. That's a pretty damn good 4 day trip...which is what you would expect to work in a 7 days period. Take 4 consecutive weeks of vacation...that's a 91 hr pay month. Not bad. Same with training. It's 3.0 per day for transition training for every day...even off days.... or 21 hours per week. A month of transition is a 90 hr pay month. Again, not bad. Some say it's BS. They want 5 hours per day for training and/or vacation. That would be 150 hrs pay for a month! woo hoo.....I mean, I'm in...150 hrs for the month! But I think you and I both know this will not happen.

Vacation at 3.25 per day or 22.75 per week pretty much ensures you get paid a normal month's pay when taking vacation. Same with 3.0 per transition training day or 21 hours per week.

James was right about vacation override. It was cool. It predates PBS, however. One thing about Vacation Override was you got paid the value of the trips in your line. So if you were able to touch 2 or even 3 of your 4 trips, they were dropped from you're line and you got paid. Great. Lots of time off! But the pay was the value of the trips. So yes, you could get more days off with vacation override, but you didn't get paid more money. Just the value of you line (capped at 81 hours back then).

I'm not being snarky, just trying to explain our contract.
