And remember, vacation drop now takes hours from you vacation bank instead of days. So, for example, if you VAC drop a high power 4 day, it could take enough hours to cost you 5 or 6 days of vacation.

That, and our idiotic 5 hours per month sick leave. 60 hours per year is one or two missed trips depending on fleet.
I wonder how many hours of sick leave DAL gets per year? Could it be as high as 200?
But hey, we DO get one hour for at home training 3 times per year. Never mind the fact that it takes several hours to actually do it. Just click through say you? Great. I hope that we're not flying together over an ocean or pole when the fecal matter splatters back.
Or, we can just continue to suck, and suck it up for 13 percent.

There is another group who may be inclined to vote yes, those whose lives (jobs, contracts, TAFCountry) have improved significantly since they landed here. Its hard to blame them but if they knew about the HUGE QOL hit the majors have taken since four airplanes were hijacked, and how we've been forced to bail our employers out time and again, perhaps they'd understand why some us remain so recalcitrant. Glad to see that you, as a recent hire understand and object to the status quo.
We'd ALL like a nice pay raise next month, but there is more to a job at a major than the first and fifteenth. Contractual erosion is insidious and corrosion. During our darkest days, the old hats counseled us to give them the money, but none of the rules. That has been proven to be excellent advice.
Think long term, especially you FNG's. If you don't, one day you'll reflect upon these as the good old days.

We used to have that. Again, another thing we let go that needs to be reclaimed. It was called vacation override. You got more time off, and more money. Read that last sentence twice. As you gain longevity, that amounts to a hell of a lot of time off, and money.
The company is making profits in the Buh-buh-buh-billions and guys are rolling as fast as they can to make 13% happen.
DALs opener is 22% - 7% - 7% (2016-17-18). Will they get that? Unlikely, but even it they get half, its better than what we are already willing to accept before you factor in other QOL issues. Like 200 hours of sick time per year, better pay credit per day, etc etc etc.

Vacation at 3.25 per day or 22.75 per week pretty much ensures you get paid a normal month's pay when taking vacation. Same with 3.0 per transition training day or 21 hours per week.
James was right about vacation override. It was cool. It predates PBS, however. One thing about Vacation Override was you got paid the value of the trips in your line. So if you were able to touch 2 or even 3 of your 4 trips, they were dropped from you're line and you got paid. Great. Lots of time off! But the pay was the value of the trips. So yes, you could get more days off with vacation override, but you didn't get paid more money. Just the value of you line (capped at 81 hours back then).
I'm not being snarky, just trying to explain our contract.
