They also like to boast the artificial class size number. 18 in a "indoc" class which 3 might be sim instructors, another 2 or 3 ground instructors, a couple of dispatchers and only around 10 FOs that will go through the full training foot print from indoc to IOE. Of those 10, at least 1 or 2 will not be around in 6 months.
Last class was 18 pilots, and 6 "others".
As far as attracting new pilots, we will all find out in January when full time hiring kicks in again. The hiring for the last couple months has been for either DEC's or well qualified candidates to keep the ground/sim instructors employees while allowing the LCA's to catch up and reduce the training footprint through IOE.
As of now, the IOE backlog as been eliminated, and there are over 100 LCA's.
That all means nothing if PSA is not able to hire in January. With the $5000 hiring bonus, it is pretty evident that they needed help hiring, and everyone knows that $5000 is not enough to draw people to PSA.
