You'll find that home basing is well worth the possible offset in pay. And a slight correction...the 777 seats tend to go to guys with time in 737s and bigger. Generally speaking, the 767 seats go to RJ pilots. Not a bad thing, however. The 767s do WAY more flying and you'll log more heavy jet time in the 767.
There's no airframe preference to upgrading except what you put on your preference sheet so you could find yourself in the left seat of a 777 in 3-4 years.
