I have a seniority list dated June 2015, it shows 1197 total pilots. The seniority list dated January 2016, shows 1195 pilots. In June, of the 1197 pilots on the list, there were 200+ new FOs still in training. Currently, there's less than 30 FOs still in training. I don't know where all these pilots are coming from that will help staff another 40+ aircraft when the last new hire class had 5. I want the company to grow so the flow increases, but I highly doubt that's going to happen.
Every airline shares that same problem. No airline is going to flow themselves out of business though either. I would expect some consolidation in the contract airline industry in 2016.
