The median household income in the US is $53,657. Many of us would not like to try to live on that as well.

Typical American family earned $53,657 last year - Sep. 16, 2015

I bought one of my translators a pair of Levis, he politely told me he didn't want them, I asked why, he said they don't cost enough. His daily jeans cost $300, I asked how many pairs do you have, he said 7.

There seems to be many well off people there and many not so well off. I lived there for 2 years.

Actually it does look like $30,000 is about average, wow, my rent was at least $1500 a month.
