If nothing changes with the retirements and hiring requirements at the legacies, not a single regional pilot currently flying will be left at the regionals. I do believe that the flow will end up being around 6-8 years for a new hire. We have only just started seeing the very beginning of this pilot shortage. It will worsen and the problems will become more complex in the next couple years.

Next up for regionals is shrinkage and consolidation.
