I can't fault the contract vote. It took PSA from 400 to 1200 pilots in a few years. The market has changed. We're big enough to cause AA to question shutting us down. I'm not saying they won't but it would cause some questions for their WO dream machine. Time to exercise some leverage before another economic turn or world crisis.
I'm not faulting the pilots who voted in the contract. The contract is terrible, but they did what they thought was best at the time. As you mentioned however, the market has changed.
