I'm a long-time USAA member frustrated by a decline in the quality across most products. As a result when it came time to refi I went with Navy Federal which turned out to be mistake.

I'm not sure why people raved about NFCU. They didn't return calls, instead I got one-liner email responses that created more questions than they answered. The rates were nothing special and the customer service was well below expectations.

If NFCU is an option, skip them.
