FDX Disruption Question
Would the following count as, "a standby period is added to a duty period for reasons other than maintenance or weather" disruption?
Non-designated sweep flight. Scheduled to show at 0100 and depart at 0200. Release designates flight a sweep flight and says cannot depart prior to another outbound flight (departing at 0245). Called crew control guy after the fact and said I'd like the pairing rebuilt to show a 45min airport standby and he claimed that since our show time hadn't changed it wasn't a disruption. If we had to show early, then it would be an added standby period.
So, before I inquire through official channels, I'll ask here: Should we be entitled to disruption pay for an added standby period? If not is there anything keeping the company from building trips with show times more than 1 hour prior to departure without designating the time as standby? Just put in release not to depart earlier than 2 or 3 hours after show. Something doesn't seem right about this, but I expect to find out just because they required us to sit around for an extra 45 mins with an option to send us earlier doesn't mean it was a standby. What say the experts?
