It was an LOA in the premerger UA contract. You will find somewhere in the LOA the exact wording 'Jets For Jobs'.

It's a fairly minor point as to the name of the program, but it required the regionals to hire x number of UAL furloughees for each new aircraft added. And yes, some of the regionals played games with the furloughees.

IIRC, there was NO INTERVIEW for a furloughed UAL pilot at a UAX feeder.
Can you name a single UAL furloughee that was a DEC CA at GoJets? I never heard about that offer, and I doubt any other furloughees heard of such a thing. I've kept in touch with a lot of furloughees and no one ever mentioned DEC positions for any US airline. There were some furloughees who took DEC positions overseas but that's an entirely different animal than we're discussing here.

I interviewed at SkyWest. There were ~a dozen of us furloughees interviewing the day I was there. We were even required to bring our logbooks, which the interviewers reviewed prior to our interviews.
