I agree with you that the bar is being raised about a decade too late, but it looks like it's rapidly moving higher. And if Republic's short on pilots like they say, they're not going to be able to cut pay. As it is, their attrition rate will likely increase because of the BK filing.
i think those rates of pay are about five years behind..... Minimum airline pilot pay should be no less than 50K per year for a new guy/gal. The signing bonus is a short term thing. I look for what the job pays and the other economics/variables. the signing bonus is just the flash of the lure to get you to take the bait. Gotta make sure it's good bait before gulping it down.
