I understand collective bargaining and that's not what was going on is what you guys don't realize. You can't bargain when you have nothing to offer. My guess is if we got offered nothing none of our CAs would leave any sooner than they would if they got offered $20,000 as well? That money isn't going to stop any of our CAs from flowing or going to other better jobs so why would the company offer the CAs any thing. When our CAs are leaving and our senior FOs are leaving then we have some thing to bargain with but they arnt. I understand you paid your dues but that doesn't mean we should take some thing away from current struggling FOs. You're on your third airline and has collective bargaining worked for any of your other airlines? I bet AA cares a lot less about how PSA is doing than we want to believe. The only people at PSA that have bargaining power are new hires. B the company proved yesterday they have no problem offering new hires bonuses and leaving the rest out. What's to stop them from offering much more than $20,000 to new hires to come here and nothing to the rest? Will the senior CAs leave and not flow? Will the junior CAs jump ship and go back to FOs or be direct entry and sit at the bottom of a seniority list again? Will the close the upgrade FOs leave? The only people in danger if leaving are brand new people and I just don't see why AA would offer people money to stay when they will stay for free.
