First of all if your goal is to live in the MD area and commute to Louisville, then why would you even consider management. If you don't know it already, as a manager at UPS you almost certainly will have to move to Louisville, but also WHEREVER ELSE they want you to move to in the future, like Rockford, Ontario, Anchorage etc.. You can say no, but that's the end of your career. So if it's stability you want and control of your life as a resident of Maryland, A mgt position is the worst thing you could consider.
A Mgr who left back in 97 told me that they promised him hard days, problem was they didn't lie, 12 hours on 12 hours off. Good luck
