Also it invites speculation and anger.."why haven't we heard anything yet??" type questions. I've seen it on paper in official form...the DFW Chief Pilot's office (Envoy) received the notice first in December 2015. Not sure how the FA's Union got hold of it, but they sent out an official Union email informing them of Mesa's departure in 2017.
So don't take my word for it. But if being DFW based is your ultimate goal I wouldn't go to Mesa right now. For NUMEROUS reasons that go beyond the DFW base, but that is just another reason.
Oh, and Mexico customs? No big deal. Some of our best overnights are in Mexico and the people down there treat us great. DFW has an EZ pass lane now that crew members can go through when coming back in...which cuts down on the transit time. Going into Mexico is even easier. Some guys get up in arms because they open your bag and look through it. In my experience, the nicer you are to them the less they look through your bag. It's just a formality they have to go through. I've heard of guys with horrible attitudes slamming their luggage down on the table....probably not a good idea.
Your statement is a complete lie with no proof. Of course you Envoy guys would love to have Mesa exit out of DFW and leave you there to take all the flying. Let me share a dose of reality....Mesa isn't leaving DFW anytime soon. Get over your wholly owned self!
