The problem is the way AAG treats their employees. Yes "free" money is good but salary and benefit parity with the rest of the industry is better.

PSA has been talking up the fleet plan as a great reason to come here, but now that pay has increased across the industry we are unable to attract the pilots needed to make that plan happen. What is truly upsetting is the attitude of management that we are not worth equal pay to everyone else and therefore our projected career advancement with "1000 new hires" will not happen either, even though AAG is making record profits and has no problem paying Doug & Dion huge salaries and bonuses because its "what the other ceos get too." That hippocracy is infuriating.
I believe they simply announced the profit sharing to get a good PR bump in the news to counter all the bad publicity they got recently about employee treatment. But of course they wouldn't match what the other companies give their employees, because again AAG does not respect their workers.
I hope they don't expect the $250 FO or $600 CA profit sharing checks will fix the staffing problems.
