Now...if you want to see his resume to give advice on what he could fix or see if he would be a likely candidate, then fine. But if you're seriously thinking about passing this one on down the pipe...you're retarded.
Guess I am then. There is no harm in reviewing someone's resume and if you see fit passing it on the company as an able applicant. It's what the company wants. They aren't asking for you to personally vouch for the person or their flying skills. They simply need help in finding people that have decent qualifications. If there is someone with close TT and a good amount of his multi is twin turbine then there is no reason why you can't send his resume in saying you've found a candidate who's past experience you feel qualifies them for an interview. Once again you aren't attaching your name to the person or vouching for them.

You guys are making something big out of something that isn't. How many people do you know working at UPS or FedEX or a major that you keep in touch with hoping one day to have them walk your resume in but you've actually never flown with? My old CFI flies at NetJets and is upgrading to captain there. He loves it there and said he'd walk anyone's resume min because it's such a great company. Two people since have been hired because I emailed their resumes to him. That's what you call NETWORKING. Making contacts and friends. There's nothing wrong with it and it's almost a currency in this industry.

Only in this place could someone offer help and then shortly later people chime in unwanted or needed giving their 2 cents as to why they think you shouldn't when their opinions were never asked for because they never mattered to start with. I never asked either of you what you thought of it and don't care enough to change my mind on the subject. It's not near as big of a deal as you two are trying to make it. It's just pushing someone's resume to the front of the pile so they are gotten to sooner rather than later.

3.85GPA
CFI/CFII/MEI
230 multi.

The fact this person is putting in his dues as a CFI rather than running to Mesa, Colgan, a PFT program etc is enough for me to help push his to the front. Shows he has a little respect for the industry. More than I can say for several SJS guys that go to the first place that hires. Mont just keep doing what you're doing bud. You'll end up in a good spot sooner or later. Don't sell yourself short.
