In addition, American is not the only airline in the world. United, Delta, some LLC's,corporate gigs ,Fed Ex,Ups all offer just as much if not more than American. 5or 6 years from now a flow won't matter anyway I promise you
We will all have moved on and most regionals will be gone anyway
i think what you just stated is a huge misconception.
American plans for AT LEAST 50% of its new hires to come from the wholly owneds. Couple that with military and guard hires, and that is a huge chunk of the classes already off the table for pilots coming in off the street.
American might not be the only airline in the world, but they are the biggest and they have the most retirements. That means they offer the biggest chance for great qol for someone hired in the next 5 years.
And to think that in 5 or 6 years flow isn't going to matter may be jumping the gun a little bit. Everyone like to tout that there aren't enough regional pilots currently to fill the classes at mainline as this huge retirement wave sets in. I think many people forget about pilots separating from the military and about pilots at the LCCs and other majors AND the increasing number of corporate pilots you will see trickiling in. There will still be regionals in 5 or 6 years.
