There will be no other way to get to American Airlines unless you go through one of their 3 wholly owned regionals.
Personally after my experience working under Doug Parker, AAG is my last choice. The only good thing about working for an AA wholly owned is that you are not reducing your chances of getting hired OTS at United or Delta.
