You are personally causing major problems for the pilot group if this is how you let things play out, -1 point for you.
The way it has gone down recently is a scheduler says you must do x and when you refuse the scheduling supervisor says you must do it or else, and when you say no the chief pilot calls and threatens punitive action. When it escalates that far over something black and white in the contract there is a serious problem.
Also an employee's age has no effect, whether its an 18 year old or 65 year old, if they are threatening to damage your career with a letter of reprimand over a clear contractual violation there is a problem.
