There is no good reason to go to Gojet. Yes, they are trying to present a gentler, kinder image but the real Gojet is underneath. The owner resents every penny he pays a pilot and believes you should be doing it for free because you will move on some day. At the same time he does not want you to stay too long because then you are too high end of the pay scale. Gojet will never change.
United is getting rid of the CRJs as the contracts become due for renewal. Skywest has had several not renewed and their flying is going to American in LA. Skywest is getting the ERJ175s and will be using them with United. Gojet's main contract with United is coming for renewal and will not be renewed despite Gojet's management telling the pilots it has been renewed and many believing it, it has not. Those planes may go to American like Skywest or they may go to China as a lot of planes have been going. If they do stay with United (note they are not adding wifi which indicates they won't) then it will not be in ORD. One thing I can assure you of is that the wants of the pilots will not be a part of the equation with the Owner. The MRJs are going to TSA if they ever come. So basically, don't expect ORD to remain a Gojet base. If it does it will shrink dramatically.
Personally, I don't see the owner keeping Gojet going and the actions seem to support that. The DO just left and they merely took a line pilot made him the chief pilot for a few months and then the DO. No indication they have long term plans. No forward thinking no using the experience from other airlines. The DO was a navy NFO (non-pilot) and then got his ratings when he retired and went to trans states as an FO. So he is not bring any inside knowledge or experience to his position. There is no long-term plan.
