VX works at a significant discount to an Alaska pilot. Forget about base pay the other sections of the contract cost huge dollars and VX is not even in off the freeway to the same ballpark.

Plus they have zero LPP and are essentially at will (i.e. no contractual seniority).

None of which matters since they are both ALPA carriers. It's possible the only asset that will remain after the merger is complete are the pilots who will all be on the AS seniority list. The company can do whatever they want to the VA fleet, but they are taking those pilots because that's Union policy.
