I know what it is being in BK. It's not a pretty thing, specially now that there are not enough pilots. It seems that Delta have the upper hand right now.

If those 23 airframes were staffed and flying, it would be a huge deal. But they aren't. BB is using CH11 to get rid of old and unprofitable equipment, and apparently this includes the old 170's (ex-Mid Atlantic birds). I think there are about three that are in revenue service that may be removed, hence the block hour loss.
I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if BB is using the threat of removal to try and get AA to pay more in the renegotiated CPA. And before anyone chimes in and says that's BS, remember that most thought that Delta would never pay more for their feed. But here we are, one hearing away from that CPA being finalized. That hearing takes place on the 21st if anyone's interested.
