I could care less what equipment I fly but I definitely want to avoid New York at all costs, because of the cost of living there. There's 3 or 4 more of us still planning to interview there but I can comfortably predict that at least 2 that are now leaning towards 9E will go elsewhere if they think they'll get stuck in NYC, as they plan to commute from the midwest.
I don't know the exact number, but there are not that many 200's heading to New York. Some of that flying will also be covered by DTW and MSP. So for this vacancy there are 40 FO's between both New York bases. That's only 1 1/2 classes if they were going to be all from new hire FO's. I would say that at least half will come from pilots already on property. Plus there will still be attrition from the other bases. Long winded answer, but I don't think they're going to put everybody in New York. I wish you the best of luck wherever you decide to go
