Saying "we were only protecting our jobs" is a reason everyone could use so why did you guys say yes since you are giving Eagle so much Sh!t about a contract while AMR was in Bankruptcy.
I don't know, I wasn't there. Every time a contract airline does something foolish like this, it only makes pilots existence in said circumstance longer and more painful. Why anyone would fight to do things to help enable their regional/contract airline to be bigger or stronger is beyond me, you're just increasing your stay there longer.

I don't understand why pilots struggle to see this. Alpa fights to prolong this pain and suffering, its the wrong objective.

The only correct answer is this "experiment" with regional airlines simply ends. That can only happen when mainline sees there is no financial benefit to keeping the regional feed.

There's a lot of book smart people who go through the arduous process of becoming an airline pilot. Yet they cannot see what is right in front of their faces, what is in their own best LONG TERM interests. An extra year at a mainline airline is probably worth a 1/4 mil easily. The job you are doing today represents 50% of all airline flying in the United States, but you are getting nothing for it.

Think about these things the next time you receive your weekly email from Alpa advertising "FFD Interview Workshop". Alpa is not on your side at the regional level. Now its an entirely different thing if you say to yourself "Well alpa is screwing me now, but once I get out of here I'll reap the benefits of what they did to me". If you are ok with that then fine.

Alpa, and those associated with them in any way, is your biggest enemy. I hope you someday see it.
