My question was more advice on how to get current and how "current" do I need to be to get hired.

Thanks again and good luck to all.
I was told 100-200hrs in the last year as a professional pilot. The advice I got was that the most recognized path to the majors was to slug it out at the regionals or dodge mortars at the ISR contractors if you were a military dude and didn't leave active duty flight current. There are regional pilots jumping ship to join the ISR contractors. If that's an option for you they're not as worried about you getting flight current as long as you can get a clearance.
