12-3 schedule? What a joke, who would go work and do that when there are so many decent places hiring. With a terrible schedule and pretty low pay, I would definitely be looking at other places. And you say, "well its the only the first year and then it goes to 10-5." Well 10-5 isnt even that good and captains making somewhere in the 60s? That's pretty below average also. I dont really see any positives. Trust me there is alot better out there.
If you have read past posts you will see that you are available 12 days. All PIC's are on 10/5. I average 6 days per rotation I gaurantee you I am home more then guys at Wheels UP. Once you make it to the 300 as a PIC the pay is ok. It's much better then it was. Plus from reading your post your not a guy I would want to be on the road with. Good luck.
