How's the SAP? When was the last time you worked a holiday? how about a weekend? Kid's birthday? When was the last time you had only 10 days off? How long were you on reserve for? Ever sit hot reserve for 10 hours? Ever done it for no pay?
A few more months and this place would've been in serious trouble. A few months is a long time though right? About how long you were on reserve for.
Have times changed? Sure. It won't stop me from rolling my eyes every once in a while.

I've never complained about my living or anything. I'll be the very first one to tell you that I've been ridiculously fortunate in my aviation career thus far. But while those times have changed, inflation has increased, school costs have gone up, plane rentals way up from the $35 most people back in the day saw. How much have FO wages increased? Not nearly enough to balance everything else. So to be fair, today's FOs are a lot more underwater than you guys were. I'll gladly take years of Reserve over the financial burden, but that's not what was presented to me. So I take what I can and just keep going. But we are all really lucky with how things have been for us. My point is just this is the exact same concept as the flow argument between CAs and FOs. Just the side have flipped on who's benefitting now. Again, major pot meet kettle.
