I am not so sure that they don't care as much as their hands are tied by the broken decision tree they have to go through: The union goes to management, management goes to the director of American's regional feed (Dion's former position), he goes to American management. American management comes back to him, he passes the word back to Dion and company, they meet with the union, and maybe they all agree on one of ten points. Then the process starts all over again. I think that's why we seem so slow to react and implement change. Not so much a lack of caring but a lack of practical ability to be quick and nimble with money/important decisions due to American's tight grip on their wholly owneds.
