Most people don't go into a job thinking, these are some awful workrules and we need a full rewrite of everything and this place sucks because we are getting screwed this way and that way. No. They go thinking I am cool with this and maybe down the road in a good while maybe we can advance even more on what we are currently doing.
I came to PSA for the CLT base (easy commute #1) and for the SAP (qol #2). This year I'll make about $50K as a 2nd year FO. And that's averaging 11-13 days off /month. I didn't sit on reserve for long and I got my base of choice right off of IOE. Now that we have a commuter clause that will pay for hotels starting in July, I'll likely make more because I'm not limiting myself to just commutable trips. The point of all this is, where would I have gone 1.5 years ago that I could be saying all of the same now? The answer, nowhere. I made the best choice I could make given the information before me. And I don't regret anything. This industry sucks. And there are many bitter people stuck in it.
